PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
We are looking for a Fire Engineer to join our exceptional Fire Engineers Team in our Birmingham office. This is progressive role in a medium size but rapidly growing company, and it is likely to develop following discussion and agreement.
Your role will encompass all aspects of fire safety engineering. This will range from undertaking research on new products and systems, working with design teams, preparing fire strategies, undertaking site inspections and computational modelling through to supporting the implementation of effective fire safety management and protection measures in existing buildings. Once you have developed a sound knowledge of the industry, we offer opportunities to specialise in different areas of fire engineering to suit your interests.
As a part of Ashton Fire, you will have the opportunity to liaise with a wider team of highly skilled fire consultants with specialisms that incorporate a diverse range of fields. You will be supported in learning fire safety engineering techniques and practices by our highly competent fire engineering team, which includes four Chartered Fire Engineers.
Training and CPD opportunities to support your professional development will be available and aligned with your ambitions and the needs of the business.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential requirements:
- BSc, BEng or higher in fire engineering (or a relevant engineering discipline).
- Upbeat personality with a high level of integrity and ethics.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Strong, positive communication skills.
- Good problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Fluent English (spoken, written and comprehension).
Desirable requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the fire engineering field.
- Experience working as part of a wider team.
- Associate member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (AIFireE).
