Position Summary
The Finance Manager, Group Planning & Reporting will act as a key finance business partner and is the key lead in reporting and analysis of global overhead expenditure and management of the planning & forecasting of these costs, providing insightful & value-adding information to senior management. Responsible for accurate reporting & management of financial information from our payroll system, including reconciliation of all payments.
Job Description
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include.
- Accountable for the delivery of our global overheads and incentive scheme actual/budget/forecast reporting on time, in full and with clear analysis and understanding of trends & variances
- Effective relationships with brand and regional finance teams to ensure clear understanding and robust reporting and forecasting of in-market overheads
- Business partner providing support and analysis to functional heads to ensure central overheads are properly managed
- Take the lead and chair monthly Overhead forums
- Responsible for travel and carbon reporting and analysis and through audit/exception reports challenging budget holders to drive cost savings & carbon efficiencies, working closely with the Sustainability Director and our Travel Management Company
- Responsible for system and process review and driving continual improvement for budgets/forecast in relation to overheads, incentive schemes and travel
- Preparation of quality and relevant financial analysis for the budget/forecast
- Review and management of central group overhead allocation process and both intercompany and global recharges
- Responsible for liaison with Payroll team to ensure smooth, accurate payroll reporting and analysis
- Act as a coach to junior members of the team and undertake the full range of people management responsibilities for team members
- Via our Concur expense system undertake robust audit/exception reports to ensure adherence with our Global Travel & Expense Policy
- Responsible for maintenance and development of our IBM Planning Analytics bespoke overhead planning & forecasting system
Skills and Experience
To take on the challenge of this role you will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or CA) ideally within an FMCG background. You will have previous experience of managing people combined with the confidence and gravitas to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. Being highly organised with a continuous improvement mind-set are considered essential qualities.
