Inside the Role
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the Financial Reporting group. This position includes responsibility for monthly close tasks including the review of reconciliations, preparation of the capital lease topics, and preparation of monthly and ad hoc reports which are shared with management and business partners. Support month-end analytical review to ensure the accuracy of the month-end close. Support activities related to asset accounting reports and data requests from auditors, confirm compliance with guidelines and internal control requirements. In addition, the Senior Accountant is responsible for performing all aspects related to asset changes within cbFC, these include asset transfers, sales and disposals and other asset movements. Assist in various fixed asset endeavors including master data, cycle counts and certifications. Analyze capitalization of assets for assigned companies and cost centers. Partner with business representatives such as Project Managers and Controllers related to fixed asset inquires and act as a subject matter expert for Asset Lifecycle. Conduct analysis of the elements or issues within internal orders and interface with business partners to resolve these matters so that IO's can be capitalized.We Take Care of Our Team
Position offers a starting salary range of $74,500.00 - $95,000.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA
- Preparation and execution of financial reporting tasks and month-end close activities associated with Asset Accounting, analytical review of financial information. Posting of journal entries, support to all existing outsourced transactions and processes and validation of all system interfaces feeding SAP cbFC.
- Responsible for monthly close tasks including the review of Accenture reconciliation reports, preparation of the lease liability reconciliation, creation of the CIP balances for all companies and preparation of monthly and ad hoc reports which are shared with business partners. Support month-end analytical review process to further improve the accuracy of the month-end close.
- Support activities related to asset accounting reports and / or data requests from auditors, confirm compliance with guidelines and internal control requirements.
- Prepare the communication of financial results and key performance metrics to management for Asset Accounting.
- Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and financial analyses to ensure that financial transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting standards.
- Manage special (ad-hoc) assignments and projects as they arise, i.e. CIP workflow, PR enhancement, Cycle Count Optimization, Vendor Tooling Reporting.
- Ensure accuracy processing of all aspects related to asset changes within cbFC related asset transfers, sales and disposals. Assist in various fixed asset endeavors related to AFE’s, A57’s, LCM’s, physical cycle count and semiannual certifications.
- Complete necessary analysis for capitalization of assets for assigned companies and cost centers.
- Assist with the research of various accounting issues; resolve Asset Accounting issues to ensure proper accounting standards and best practices are applied.
- Provide training and support the communication of the accounting effects of transactions to the business users.
- Partner with business representatives such as Project Managers and Controllers related to fixed asset inquires. Conduct analysis of the elements or issues within internal orders with business partners to resolve these matters so the IOs can be capitalized.
- Work with Revenue Accounting team to capitalize special utility vehicle (SUV) assets on time.
- Support the research of relevant new accounting issues, proposal of appropriate accounting treatment and drafting of white papers on proper IFRS accounting treatment related to technical accounting issues and matters. Prepare documentation of new and/or existing processes and policies.
- Working with the business partners to identify process and/or system improvements, assist in the set-up of relevant systems with in Asset Accounting, e.g. accounting system maintenance involved with asset transfers, disposals and sales. Advanced analytical tools are used in this function, e.g. Alteryx, Asset Lifecycle, Tableau.
- Perform evaluation of Internal Controls over Asset Accounting and ensure that the necessary controls are documented and tested in accordance with requirements
- Work cross functionally with business units to implement new business processes in own area of responsibility as a result of changes in business or accounting requirements (i.e. – subsequent cost refinements, new compendium guidance, IFRS).
- Support organizational and/or system changes to meet Continuous Improvement and TOS objectives
Knowledge You Should Bring
- BS/BA degree in business and 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience with researching and applying technical accounting regulations to unique business transactions
- SAP System Knowledge
- Strong organizational abilities with an attention to detail
- An attached resume is required
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Experience with SAP functionality, particularly FI and CO modules
- Supervisory or team lead experience in a complex manufacturing environment
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills
