Job description
Lexis Nexis UK is looking to hire a Financial Analyst that has some previous experience /knowledge of royalties or sales commissions or even payroll to join our commercial finance team as a Commissions Analyst.
Based in London, this is a hybrid role with 1 day in the office per week and the salary on offer is very negotiable.

Purpose of the role
- Work with key holders to optimize the commission process, automating where possible
- Track and report on commissionable sales performance
- Assist in formulating annual commissionable targets in line with LN growth objectives
- Act as key point of contact in responding to commission-related queries
- Ad-hoc support on the delivery of month end Sales Performance reports
Key result areas
Sales Commissions
- Optimize commission process including through further automation
- Prepare timely and appraise monthly sales commissions, including communicating with participants of the incentive schemes
- Review key monthly movements and implications on commission payments
- Drive inbound query resolution through a Smartsheet ticketing system
- Own the annual process of calculating accelerator payments
- Own the process of making manual adjustments in line with compensation schemes
- Act as SME for sales performance reporting, suggesting any improvements and ensuring the data used is accurate
- Create and disseminate insightful analysis of commissionable sales performance, highlighting significant variances to target and any commercial issues
Sales Targets
- Facilitate the development of annual sales targets, ensuring the scheme is in keeping with desired business behaviours and revenue objectives
- Help to formulate bottom-up annual sales targets, aligned to the delivery of budgeted revenue.
Key skills and experience
- Experience managing commission schemes and driving process improvements
- Ability to operate in a specialist area and use knowledge to deliver results
- Ability to communicate on a daily basis with non-finance professionals and demonstrate ability to deal with potentially emotive topics
- Display high degree of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel & SQL desirable

Communication
- Liaise daily with Account Managers for commission-related queries
- Regular contact with Sales Heads and the wider Business Insight team
- Daily contact with the wider LN Finance team
- Regular contact with Data & Analytics, Sales Ops and HR
