Job Description
Our Brewing & Brands team are seeking an Assistant Finance Analyst to join the Operational Finance team and provide finance support to our brewing and packaging teams. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner and working as a part of a team, this role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and offers the opportunity to partner closely with operational teams together with career progression opportunities for the future. This role is based in Bury St Edmunds (50% hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
- Extracting, analysing and presenting insightful information on the business Packaging operations from relevant information systems, aligning it to budget and forecasts, and driving appropriate actions and decisions
- Preparing detailed cost analysis (materials and overheads) and performance metrics as relevant, and presenting these to both financial and non-financial stakeholders; ensure all KPIs and efficiencies are accurate and that appropriate action is taken when these start to deviate
- Proactively support the budget and planning activities of the business, holding budget holders to account for spending
- Standard cost preparation, maintenance, and analysis with insight and recommendations on how to reduce the cost per barrel
- Preparing accurate costings for new SKU lines (Stage Gate/New Product Development or NPD) and collaborating with Commercial Finance to ensure that products are economically viable and are operationally efficient
What skills do I need?
You will be a part (or fully) qualified ACCA/CIMA accountant ideally with previous experience in an operations facing role. You will have strong IT skills including intermediate to advanced Excel. Complementing your experience, you will demonstrate the following skills:
- Excellent communication and data presentation skills, acting confidently to a range of finance/non-finance audiences
- Excellent analytical skills with proven track record of creating and providing insight with ability to drive decisions & positive actionon
- Rigorous attention to detail to ensure accuracy
- Ability to challenge and have difficult conversations
