We are adding a Financial Analyst to our small team to partner with the experienced Financial Analyst already in place. Reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis manager the responsibilities in this role will include a variety of tasks that are daily, monthly, and quarterly with the most demanding being the tasks surrounding month end close and budgeting. There is an emphasis on being able to refine and analyze data from various sources and verify it’s accuracy through the use of multiple programs. Advanced skills in excel are required for success in this roll. The finance team is also involved in some critical areas of the accounting function including the allowance for loan loss, repossessed assets, and loan/share balancing.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining the credit union’s financial reporting system, including managing dimensions, daily balancing, monthly data quality analysis, and data gathering for reporting.
- Prepare daily and weekly liquidity reports.
- Prepare weekly cash flow analysis to ensure sufficient funds.
- Complete monthly reconciliations for loan, investments, and share instruments, including: general ledger system, financial reporting system, and loan database system.
- Prepare monthly Allowance for Loan Loss reconciliation.
- Prepare monthly yield and variance reports for management, research, and work with departments to identify variance causes.
- Gather data and assist in preparing quarterly loan portfolio reports.
- Assist with the annual budget process for the organization, document, and update model assumptions, and assist with reporting and meeting preparations.
- Assist with special projects, financial analyses, and forecasting.
- Provide backup support to other positions in the finance department.
Position Requirements:
- This position is remote.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- 3+ years of prior working experience as an accountant, financial analyst, or internal audit within a banking or financial institution is required.
- Prior experience with daily balancing, reconciliation of general ledger is required.
- Requires proficient skills in Excel (creating pivot tables, V lookups, filtering, equations) and report writing, with a solid understanding of database principles.
- Working experience in Axiom is beneficial, but not required.
