Job description

We are looking for a caring, animal loving and friendly individual to join our team as

an auxiliary veterinary nurse. You will work alongside our expanding team of 9
veterinary surgeons, 7 registered veterinary nurses, 7 student veterinary nurses and 5 auxiliary nurses to provide vital nursing care within our thriving first opinion practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who, in the future, wishes to qualify as a registered veterinary nurse as we are a training practice linked with the Abbeydale
Veterinary Nurse training program.

Previous experience in a veterinary environment
is not essential, but previous experience working with animals would be
advantageous.

As part of your role you may be involved in:

  • Exercising, grooming and feeding hospitalised animals (inpatients)
  • Monitoring and providing supportive care to inpatients
  • Preparing theatre and relevant equipment
  • Cleaning and preparing accommodation for animals
  • Restraining animals for treatment and assisting in consultations
  • Reception duties, answering telephone calls and advising clients
  • Record keeping and running laboratory tests

Vet’s Klinic Swindon is a state-of-the-art veterinary practice offering the very highest
standards of pet care at affordable prices. As well as the very latest clinical facilities
including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, dental suite and advanced
anaesthetic monitoring, the practice also features some unique facilities including a
glass fronted prep room as well as secure online access to pets’ medical records
which feature photos and videos as well as all the vet’s clinical notes. The role will be a 40 hour week over 4 days including working one in every 4 Saturdays from 9am-4pm and includes NO OUT OF HOURS! We are a very caring and supportive family at Vets Klinic offering progression with our varied and exciting cases.
