The Role:
Beatport is seeking a full-time Financial Analyst to join our team in London to 1) perform analytical work for forecasting, budgeting, planning exercises and various reporting requirements and 2) perform research and analysis to validate new product strategy / M&A across all groups. This role will report directly to the VP, Financial Operations.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Financial Analyst will have:
- At least 5-7 years background in relevant roles, with direct experience in a dedicated FP&A role strongly preferred
- Background working in investment banking, music / media or technology
- Experience working with business leaders across departments
- Exposure to general accounting and finance principles
- Sense of urgency, handle multiple responsibilities, and work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent communication, prioritization and organizational skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Netsuite is a plus
- Strong analytical skills, ability to cut through the complexity of big data and provide concise and actionable narratives
- Ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adapt to changing industry and organizational landscape
- Desire to dig into financial analysis, improvement in execution, and owning end to end processes
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly business review packages for various department leaders and key executives
- Create monthly capital and expense tracking and variance analysis and communicate results to department heads and project owners
- Develop and manage the forecasting process and improve forecasting accuracy
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly cash flow analysis
- Own the annual budget process and provide ongoing support to leaders in the organization for the preparation and review of the annual budgets
- Monitor KPIs and identify the cause of unexpected variances
- Provide M&A decision support: business cases for investment, scenario analysis, and post investment reviews that are transparent and accurate.
- Analyze and monitor financial and operational trends, integrating data from several sources, to develop a comprehensive view of performance
- Work with the BA team to identify KPI metrics to track performance, drive forward the automation of KPIs, and be knowledgeable and clear on data sources utilized
- Ad hoc analysis as needed for executives as needed
