A high-performing school federation is urgently looking for a Finance Officer to join a professional team that has to operate flexibly to meet pressured and complex demands. The Finance Officer will provide support for the finance function of the four schools using a new system (PS Financials) and the Finance Officer will be expected to play an active part in the effective use of the system across the Federation. Duties will include:

• Assist Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Finance Manager (FM) with the production of financial reports for internal and external clients
• Ensure the integrity of the nominal ledger and provide monthly reconciliations of the bank and other key control accounts.
• To produce monthly management accounts with insightful commentary and analysis for senior managers and budget holders.
• To be responsible for the review of budget allocations, upload and phasing on an annual basis for consistency.
• To assist with government statistical returns, VAT returns, gift aid, etc.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) are desirable. * Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting. * Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting. * Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel. Can consider temp to perm or permanent candidates.

Salary is dependent on experience.
