Finance Officer
Rivers Birtwell is a property Investment company who source and develop high premium student accommodation across Brighton, Bath and Bristol. We are a family run business with strong values and a culture of self-development in a challenging and supportive environment.
Duties:
- Manage and process financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records on Xero accounting software.
- Assist in preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Responsible for account payable process and producing weekly payment runs
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies
- Assist in the preparation of Quarterly management accounts and production of Year end financial accounts
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures
Qualifications:
- AAT Qualified or studying / other related accounting qualification
- two year proven experience in finance or accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices
- Proficient in using financial software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Approachable and social person with good communication and interpersonal skills
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Finance Officer with strong background in finance, to join our team where you can expand your existing experience within a friendly and relaxed environment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, coding and posting these onto Xero software, processing journals and recharge invoices, preparing quarterly reports, perform key accounting reconciliations and controls, analysing data, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Ability to work with your own initiative and freedom to implement and contribute to finance process to streamline tasks.
