Finance Officer
£26,000 - £28,000 per annum FTE
Full Time – 37 hours per week or significant Part Time – c 30 hours per week
7% employer pension contribution, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
Launchpad exists to help clients turn their lives around and fulfil their potential. We are a registered charity for the homeless that supports Reading’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people. We are now seeking a Finance Officer to work on a full-time or substantial part-time basis.
ABOUT LAUNCHPAD
Based in central Reading, Launchpad provides vital information and support for vulnerable individuals, couples and families in Reading who do not have a stable place to live or are at risk of losing their home. Founded as a soup kitchen in 1979 by students at the University of Reading, the charity now provides a holistic service that works in three ways – we prevent homelessness, provide homes and rebuild lives.
THIS ROLE
We are now seeking a Finance Officer to work on a full-time or substantial part-time basis. This exciting opportunity will involve supporting the Finance Manager and Head of Finance in the financial management of Launchpad. The role will include:
· Working with colleagues in other teams/departments to ensure accurate recording of various income streams (eg rental and fundraising income) and reconciliation between Sage Accounts and departmental databases.
· Performing balance sheet reconciliations, processing of prepayments and accruals on a monthly basis to ensure accurate financial recording and reporting.
· Supporting and empowering Launchpad departments and staff to provide effective financial information and controls.
We are looking for someone with:
· Good levels of Literacy and Numeracy;
· Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel including best practice use of spreadsheets;
· Experience of using accounting software to ensure effective oversight and management of General, Sales and Purchase Ledger.
The successful candidate will also have effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to financial control and strong problem-solving ability.
