Assistant Finance Manager - Management Accountant
Near Waterlooville - Portsmouth - Hampshire
£28,000-£30,000 + great bens + study
Vardey Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, Charity near Waterlooville (Portsmouth region) in Hampshire, who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to take on the role as the Management Accountant within the friendly and supportive team! The organisation employs over 250 people, across 3 business areas and provides free care and support to those in the community who have a life-limiting illness as well as their families.
The management accounts job:
The job as the management accountant is an exciting opportunity for an assistant accountant to join the finance team and support the finance manager in ensuring that the Charity’s financial and accounting procedures are fit for purpose, in line with all relevant legalities, so as to ensure that all income and expenditure is appropriately accounted for across the charity. The role of the management accountant is to produce accurate management accounts on a timely basis. To assist the finance manager in the production of forecasts and budgets and to assist in the year end process.
- Balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Support the team in producing regular and ad hoc analysis as requested to aid timely and accurate decision making
- Support the finance manager to maximising income collection of monies owing to the organisation
- Responsible for accurately recording and reporting on Income
- Line manage the assistant management accountant
- Ensuring timely and accurate inputs to Oracle NetSuite
- Support the production of regular and adhoc, accurate and timely management information needed to aid timely and intelligent decision making
The ideal candidate:
- Ideally good experience in management accounting and/or balance sheet reconciliations - journals & prepayments, accruals
- AAT studier or Part-Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or CIPFA) or qualified by experience
- Strong Excel, Word
- Assistant Management accountant seeking a step forward who is able to work to deadlines or a proven management accountant/finance manager
- Senior Accounts Assistant able to prioritise work
- An assistant accountant able to work as a team & supervise others
- Supportive and helpful
- Background in AP/AR/Bank recs
