As the Head of Finance and a senior leader at QDOS you will oversee all QDOS finance and accounting activities and be responsible for the financial and regulatory compliance of the company. You will use accurate accounting data to partner with the business strategically to impact decision making, forecasting and budgeting at a company-wide level and report to the Managing Director.
Finance Operations
- Ensure the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of all QDOS financial records and operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory, Provisions, etc
- Management of cash and working capital
- Liaison with tax partners in the Netherlands and accountants in France to complete local compliance and support QDOS operations across Europe
- Liaison with auditors and tax advisors for timely statutory reporting and advice
Strategy
- Analysis of past business performance at a level of granularity that allows for in-depth understanding of key drivers
- Planning and analysis of future performance to manage risk and shape the future performance of the business
Ownership
- Run monthly management meetings and deliver insights to senior management in order to drive improvements
- Create and maintain effective and efficient spending controls, policies and procedures in the business
- Drive execution of those policies throughout the company, fine-tuning to ensure adoption
- Manage the bookkeeping function to deliver accurate and on-time general ledger data inputs
Requirements
You have:
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role, +5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- A strong technical accounting background
- Prior experience of working in a small to medium, owner-managed business
- Strong personal responsibility, initiative and integrity
- Experience of Xero, Sage or other multi-currency finance software
- Experience of managing multiple currencies – Sterling, Euro, USD
- Experience of manufacturing, import & export essential
- Proven problem-solving skills
- High level of personal credibility, professional in manner
You are:
- Degree educated and ACCA or CIMA qualified
- A stable individual who is good under pressure, able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- A person with sound commercial judgement and the skills to compel others to follow policies and procedures
- Highly self-motivated with determination to succeed
- Pro-active, with ability to work off your own initiative with minimal supervision
- A person with a keen eye for detail, strong financial acumen and analytical skills
- Very computer literate, competent user of MS Word and Excel (intermediate or advanced level)

We operate out of our offices in a beautiful converted barn just outside of Guildford with free off-road parking but operate a hybrid schedule with three days in the office (including every Monday) and the other two days working from home. We provide generous 28x days holiday per year as well as bank holidays.
