Job Title: Finance Manager

Parkwood Hall is a residential and day school for pupils aged 8-19 years with moderate to severe learning
difficulties and other complex needs including autism and language difficulties. We are passionate about

Job purpose: To support in the financial management of the academy by overseeing the financial controls
within the school. Providing the Principal, Director of Resources (DOR), Governors and SLT with appropriate
financial information to support decision making. To ensure the financial monthly processes are completed
accurately and in a timely manner. Providing support to the DOR in effectively and efficiently running the
finance function of the Trust. Ensure accounting standards and Trust finance policies are being adhered to.
Line Management: To be accountable to the DOR in all matters relating to the role. To liaise with the
Principal, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Governors.
Staff Management: Line management of staff within the finance department, ensuring appropriate
allocation of roles and responsibilities. Setting of objectives for the finance team, supported by regular
reviews.

Financial responsibilities
- Provide financial leadership and professional financial management for the school in accordance with the

Cash Management
• Manage and report on the cashflow position of the Trust.
- Monitor restricted funds as appropriate
- Check all BACs transactions prior to approval by the DoR
- Ensure bank reconciliations are completed accurately on a monthly basis.
- Manage the Trust’s banking relationship.
Billing/Lettings/Credit Control
- Manage the termly billing process.
- Manage the commercial letting of the grounds and liaise with site staff, accordingly.
- Liaise with the local authorities to ensure credit control is effective.
- Regularly report to the DOR regarding the debtor position.
Other responsibilities
- Promote the Trust’s vision and values
- Support the Director of Resources in meeting the trust needs
- Lead, develop and motivate the finance officers
