What you will do

As Finance Manager we expect you to play a crucial role as part of Vindex Systems, a recent addition to the Johnson Controls family. Your role will involve being responsible for monthly management accounts, and preparation and review of yearly Budgets and Forecasts including P&L overhead variance analysis. As part of a small close-knit team you will be working on a part-time basis, around 24 hours per week. The days/hours can be adjusted to suit you.

How you will do it

  • Preparing and providing interpretation of monthly management accounts. Raising concerns, areas for discussion. Variance analysis and GAP reporting.
  • Ensure all Group (JCI) Finance reports are delivered on time.
  • Statutory Reporting
  • Preparation and review of yearly Budgets and Forecasts
  • P & L Overhead variance analysis.
  • Calculating and processing accruals, prepayments & deferred income.
  • Assisting with an accurate monthly WIP report
  • Supervise Fleet management.
  • Salesperson’s commission calculations and emailing through commission statements.
  • Reviewing debtor’s ledger, sales target list, retention schedule
  • Preparing, monitoring and reporting on cash flows to include weekly cashflow. Providing a 26-week cashflow projection.
  • Supervising and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
  • Maintaining P11d info – critically fleet ledger. Submission of P11d’s via external accountants.
  • Maintaining Fixed Asset Register.
  • Insurance declarations when required.
  • Company insurance renewals outside JCI scope.
  • Providing, interpreting and reporting on analytical financial reports as and when required. Reporting on actual TO Vs. Projected TO month on month.
  • Constantly reviewing and evaluating for cost reduction opportunities with Senior Management
  • Ensuring compliance with changes in financial regulations and legislation, collaborating closely with company auditors.
  • Coordinating with Banks and auditors on company financial/Legal matters.
  • Guide the Senior Management with a more strategic long-term business projection 5 Year Plan

What we look for

  • Proven experience in a finance manager position, ideally within an SME.
  • ACA or ACCA OR CIMA Qualified
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally, with the confidence to build working relationships and influence others at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Commercial and business awareness
  • Self-motivating with analytical approach to work with ability to cope with immediate demands and to prioritise tasks
  • High Numeracy and sound technical skills.
  • strong attention to detail and an investigative nature with a logical approach to problem solving and the ability to generate ideas and solutions.
