Job description
Instead of asking our students to bet on us, we bet on them first. This paradigm-shifting model allows us to align the incentives of the school with the incentives of our students – and we all win when our graduates succeed.
If that sounds exciting to you, let’s talk. Our success depends on building teams who can challenge each other's assumptions with fresh perspectives. To that end, we don’t just accept differences – we celebrate them. BloomTech welcomes a diverse pool of applicants, including those from historically marginalized groups and non-traditional backgrounds who can appreciate the diverse student communities that we serve and are looking to grow into. This includes women, people with disabilities, people of color, formerly incarcerated people, individuals who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or gender nonconforming, first and second generation immigrants, veterans, and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds.
Role Description:
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan, build and enhance the financial operations at an innovative company at the forefront of a new financial asset class
- Work with senior leadership on creating metrics to measure the financial performance of our company; measure our learners’ financial and job placement success post-program completion
- Become an expert on our business model, work on company level strategy and assist with any potential fundraising activities

- Own month-, quarter-, and year-end close financial reporting process working with our accounting team to deliver presentations to the executive leadership team
- Identify & implement improvements to finance processes to help us scale. We want you to help us systematize and modernize our finance organization
- Refine and manage policies and procedures with respect to revenue recognition, A/P, A/R, payroll, month-end close, and other accounting operations
- Manage and run internal cross-functional initiatives related to ISA contracts and repayment bond, investor, and senior leadership reporting
- Willingness to roll up the sleeves and get in the weeds given the lean team dynamic (expected to work in sheets / presentations yourself without hiring multiple juniors)
- Manage a lean team, help grow and develop your organization

- 3-8 years minimum experience in finance roles with increasing responsibility.
- Experience in scaling the financial operations of a startup to 100+ people with a lean finance org, ideally as both an IC and Manager
