AVC Wise is seeking to employ a Finance Manager to join our team. This is an exciting new opportunity to be part of a growing and innovative business.
The role requires an individual to be hard-working and enthusiastic and have the flexibility to work both in a team as well as under their own initiative. You will identify opportunities for continuous improvement in relation to the maintenance of data and will work with internal stakeholders to drive data efficiency.
Who we’re looking for
Your main responsibilities in this role will include:
- To manage and monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company including financial reporting
- Oversee and manage the two employees in the Finance Team
- Produce Management Information every month and report to the Operating Board
- Prepare annual reports and returns for statutory financial reporting including company accounts and Companies House returns
- Produce, monitor and analyse the financial budget and cashflow to identify progress and anomalies
- Provide input and advice to the Operating Board on all financial matters and be seen as the financial expert at the company
- Contract outside services for tax and accounting advice, accounts preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary
- Manage relationships with external financial parties including banking, financing and pension provider
- Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
- Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company including researching and analysing financial reports and market trends
- Manage the finance systems in place and establish system improvements to make financial processes more efficient
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company and ensure compliance with accounting policies, legislation and regulatory requirements

A bit about you
You will have previous experience in a Finance Manager role, as well as holding a professional accounting qualification. In addition to this you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Significant technical accounting knowledge including creating statutory accounts
- Demonstrable experience of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Superior mathematical skills
- Leadership skills and people management experience with the ability to delegate and manage the work of others
- Proactive approach and positive attitude
- Understanding of data privacy standards
- Understanding of legislative reporting requirements
- Excellent organisational, planning, research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient IT skills in particular in MS Excel, Accounting Systems and Modelling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and spoken
- Competent public speaking skills
- High attention to detail
- Multi-tasking abilities
- High level of integrity and honesty
