About The Role
Start Date: Oct/Nov 2023
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9.30am – 6pm with an hour unpaid lunchbreak, Mondays – Fridays
Contract: Permanent Staff
Salary: depending on experience
Location: Gas Ferry Road Studio, Bristol - with some remote working to be agreed
Role: The role is responsible for the day-to-day running and management of the Finance team and involves deputising for and providing information to the Finance Director. The role collaborates proactively across the entire business.
This is a varied position and here’s an outline of some of the duties and responsibilities:
Reporting and Reviewing:
- To carry out initial review of quarterly management accounts and preparation of budget comparison documents
- To manage the annual audit and preparation of statutory accounts and tax information requests in collaboration with the management accountant
- To review and approve Crew Booking Forms, ensuring appropriate application of IR35.
- To ensure all projects are set up appropriately on the accounting system and intranet.
- To assess, approve and manage corporate credit card facility and applications.
- To review of journals, reconciliations and other work performed by other team members.
- To extract annual recharges from the budget and ensure all recharges calculated and applied on a timely basis.
Cash Management:
- Responsible for treasury & cash management & the preparation of short term cashflow forecasts, including day to day liaison with our bankers and foreign exchange brokers.
- To be responsible for submitting BACs payments and approving larger online payments
- Review and approval of bank reconciliations
VAT:
- To review VAT returns and ensure timely submission.
Royalty Statements:
- To liaise with Business Affairs and Credit Controller to ensure third party royalty statements are prepared accurately and on a timely basis.
- To perform initial review of third party royalty statements
Statutory returns:
- To ensure all statutory returns are produced accurately and in a timely manner, e.g., National Statistics, PAYE settlement agreement, confirmation statements.
- To liaise with all government agencies including HMRC

About You
For this position, we’re looking for a professionally qualified accountant (ideally minimum 5 years PQE) with ideally a minimum 2 years of people management experience. A high level of PC literacy is required, and a good knowledge of Excel is essential. You will need be a good team player with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work and effective communication skills.
