About us
Biological Services is an integral part of UCL’s biomedical research efforts, providing expert services to researchers primarily within Life and Medical Sciences. The department is composed of around 80 technical staff based across a number of UCL’s sites in London. We work collaboratively with researchers to deliver an outstanding service and . This position will join the central administration team in Biological Services as Finance and HR Officer. The potholder will benefit from flexible working arrangements with a minimum of 40% on site. About the role
The HR & Finance Officer is a key member of the Department’s central administration team, with responsibility to support the Business Operations Manager to deliver the strategies for Biological Services. Under the direction of the Business Operations Manager, the postholder will assist in delivering a customer-focussed service, particularly in areas of finance, research grant administration and human resources. The postholder will also deputise and provide cover for the Business Operations Manager as required. Please see Job advert attached.
About you
Candidates will be educated to A level standard, or equivalent qualifications or substantial relevant experience. They will have experience of working in a higher education institution and of managing budgets and HR. They will have excellent IT and communication skills. They should be empathetic and knowledgeable in HR and finance. They should have a positive, self-motivated and flexible approach to their work, including supporting the business operations Team.
