Finance Business Partner: Supply Chain & Services Operations

This 12-month secondment role has been created within the Supply Chain & Service Operations team to support the Head of Finance in financially managing this key business area.
This role will business partner the Commercial team to deliver great customer, colleague and commercial outcomes. You will play a key role in the weekly trading reviews where you will communicate the financial impact of the Operations performance. Using strong commercial acumen and insight, you will independently advise and challenge the area to optimise business outcomes. You will build plans and track performance with the team to ensure the area delivers on its commitments, develop and manage financial models to ensure financial plans are accurate and work collaboratively across Finance to deliver month end results / commentary and monthly forecasts.
Responsibilities:
- Business Partner with SC&SO leadership and their wider team, developing strong relationships and being seen as trusted Finance business partner
- Communicating financial performance to key stakeholders explaining variances to target and providing insight to enhance decision making
- Challenging business performance through reviewing and interpreting financial metrics
- Driving value through identification, development and exploitation of business opportunities
- Ensuring risks and opportunities are identified and mitigated where required with visibility provided to management in a timely manner
- Development and approval of financial plans for the SC&SO area (budget, outlooks)
- Producing business cases for investments to improve customer, colleague and/or business outcomes and ensuring initiatives are being tracked post launch, working with Operations to deliver the agreed benefits
- E2E P&L View - work collaboratively with the wider business to ensure that E2E reporting is accurate and aligned to Operations ways of working
- Process development to ensure that financial reporting and processes are fit for purpose, defining what good looks like and supporting its delivery
- Liaising with the wider Finance team to ensure alignment on financial modelling, reporting and budgeting, leveraging the Centres of Excellence effectively
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Accountancy Qualification and preferably 2+ years PQE
- Robust business partnering, able to support, challenge and influence SC&SO – helping navigate through business and finance processes
- Strong commercial acumen, using insight and experience to make balanced and effective decisions
- Effective stakeholder management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with senior stakeholders to articulate complex messages
- Advanced problem solving, able to analyse and understand complex issues to facilitate recommendations on optimal solutions
- Accounting and financial management - Apply financial knowledge and explain the implications clearly to others
