The Group Finance Assistant will drive the management of the company’s procure-to-pay process globally, covering the entities in the UK, APAC, EMEA and North/South America. This fixed-term contract role will work with finance and non-finance teams to drive the highest standards of finance operations related to procure to pay. This is an opportunity to make an impact as a finance professional who thrives on finance change and on providing best-in-class procure to pay process, reporting and compliance through the group companies.
DUTIES
- Manage accounts payable inbox, processing invoices and payment runs for all entities across the group
- Review and approve employee expense claims across the group and ensure compliance with the group’s travel and expense policy
- Work with department heads to ensure smooth processing of invoices and ensure they are aligned with budgets and in line with payment run deadlines
- Work closely with the compliance team so that new suppliers are onboarded and ensure compliance with the group procurement and purchasing policy
- Manage bank postings (receipts and payments) and reconcile bank transactions in the accounting system on a weekly basis
- Work closely with the accounting team on month-end related tasks such as accounts payable, accruals, bank reconciliations and other month-end tasks and analyses
- Deliver purchase order training for existing and new employees
- Update daily cash sheet to assess movements of receipts and payments monthly
- Maintain AP process notes and include how other ad-hoc tasks/reports are accessed in Workday
- Support ad-hoc projects as the team and business expand internationally
Requirements
Essential
Solid experience in multi-country procure-to-pay process
- Solid understanding of controls and procure-to-pay best practices
- Being driven and able to balance multiple priorities
Very good communication skills with the ability to articulate procure to pay matters to finance and non-finance teams
Desirable
Proven experience working within a group environment
- Industry experience (fast-growth technology company is a plus)
- Working knowledge of the Workday accounting system is a plus
