Responsibilities
Description of the Business Line or Department
The Finance Division (DFIN) is in charge of:
- Steering the financial and budgetary strategy of GBIS, and its investment and development policy;
- Measuring and analysing the profitability of the activities portfolio (clients, businesses, geographies) and the use of all resources (overheads, balance sheet, capital, liquidity, etc.);
- Certifying GBIS accounts (accounting quality, valuation methods, orders options, etc., regardless of the production centres, vis-à-vis DFIN, external auditors, regulators, etc.;
- Ensuring the necessary support and the right level of expertise on the subjects of accounting standards, taxation, scarce resources and regulation.
Summary of the key purposes of the role
You will report to the CFO and will work closely with Head of Assets and Liabilities Management, Head of Regulatory reporting and Head of Accounting on the following tasks:
- Provide support to the CFO in day-to-day management of the Finance department
- Coordinate delivery and timeline of projects, analysis, and associated controls
- Act as a coordinator with other departments
Summary of responsibilities
- Working with the teams within Finance to assist in the preparation of monthly management meeting packs and Board Packs.
- Provide support in data analysis across scarce resources, accounting and regulatory reporting. Assisting with submissions to the FCA and to the Board including the ICARA and recovery and resolution.
- Support of the SGIL CFO to ensure Senior Manager Responsibilities are met and documented
- Act as secretary to the SGIL Finance EXCO.
- Maintain register of updated policies, procedures and day-to-day processes

Competencies
- General knowledge on corporate finance and banking knowledge
- Higher educational background
- Organizational skills: Time and priority management & ability to deliver
- Good writing ability in Word & Powerpoint (drafting notes, reports, explanative papers …)
- Analytical & inquisitive mindset, open minded to change with the initiative to define and propose solutions
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines but also challenge requests & the approach to them
- Ability to work with the team members globally based
- Relationship skills to build a good working relationship with business lines, OPER, ITEC plus other Finance Departments in London, Head Office.
- Ability to think and act proactively displaying an entrepreneurial mindset and common sense
