Job title: Finance Assistant (Project Accounting)

Salary: £20,000 – £25,000 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Financially control and manage a suite of projects and complete reporting requirements on behalf of those projects
- Partner with the Project teams to understand budgets and variances, and to challenge the assumptions made in order to identify financial risks and opportunities
- Preparing financial reporting by pulling and validating data from a variety of sources
- Helping ensure projects are fully compliant with the BAE Systems Operational Framework and Finance Policies Manual to satisfy all Internal Control requirements
- Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team and wider business to help drive the Finance function forward
- Working with key stakeholders in the preparation and completion of financial forecasts
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Education in accounting, finance, or business is preferable, with a foundation in Maths/ English education or equivalent
- Confident communicator, able to liaise with various levels of stakeholders
- Strong Excel skills and ability to pick up new IT systems
- Ability to learn and develop in finance environment
Desirable:
- Gained knowledge / experience in Project Accounting /Commercial
- AAT / Part Qualified CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA
