Kenton Black Finance have partnered with an award-winning business who deliver sustainable solutions in the Birmingham area. Our Client invest, design, manufacture, construct, maintain and operate a wide variety of projects for the public and private sector. They are looking to broaden their finance team by adding a Finance Assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract. The role offers hybrid working after completion of training and numerous other benefits
Your new role as the Finance Assistant:
As the new Finance Assistant you will carry out the following duties:-
Record, code & process purchase/subcontract invoices after completing checks
Deal with both internal and external supplier queries.
List Receipting Materials/Internal Labour/Plant Hire/Agency Labour / Subcontractors
Input sales invoices onto the computer system as required
Input timesheets into payroll system after completing checks as required
Help Management Accountant complete month end tasks
Supplier statement reconciliations.
Use Excel & MS Windows & Computerised Accounting System
General office duties as requested
As part of the Finance Team, dealing with the recording and processing of invoices.
Collate monthly data for reporting purposes
Assisting in other areas of the Finance Team as and when required to promote task rotation.
Carry out other duties as assigned by your line manager.
To ensure that all operations carried out within our area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for the safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself.
Ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact
Experience & Qualifications required to apply:
- Experience of working in a similar role (minimum 1 year)
- Working knowledge of Excel and accounting software
- Experience of working within a busy accounts team
- A passion for numbers, accuracy, and skills in calculating figures is vital
- Excellent communication & teamwork skills
- Knowledge of accounting terminology and of accountancy rules and legislation
- Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to detect inconsistencies and errors
