We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join Volume Group! Are you looking to join an exciting and forward-thinking company? Do you have at least 5 years’ experience of supporting and managing accounts?
As well as working closely with the Head of Finance to support the day-to-day management of the accounts, you will build strong relationships with the wider Group Services team to provide an excellent service to all three of our operating companies; Volume, QBox, and Shine L&D. We are a global company, so you should be comfortable working in a variety of currencies and with team members in other time zones.

Role Summary
As our Finance Assistant, you will work closely with our Head of Finance and be required to support the team to provide and maintain accurate accounts. Day to day you will be involved in credit control, updating the cashflow, setting up new and managing clients on our account systems, raising sales invoices and the maintenance of accurate records. Our teams are based around the world, so working in other currencies (GBP, USD, EUR, LKR) and with colleagues in other time zones is important, as well as building strong relationship with colleagues and stakeholders both in person and remotely.
This role is open to someone who is qualified, studying towards qualification or qualification through experience. You must be highly organised, efficient and have excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Updating cashflow, setting up of new clients on the accounts system, general administration and filing, and ensuring all processes are documented regularly
- Raising sales invoices and reconciling multiple bank accounts, in different currencies
- Chasing up outstanding debts (credit control)
- Managing bank transactions including supplier payment runs and special payments. Processing bank payments and sending out remittances
- Reconciling sales and purchase ledgers
- Updating and maintaining outstanding client purchase order schedule
- Producing and maintaining monthly statements for clients and dealing with any queries arising
- Reconciliation of monthly supplier statements and responding to supplier queries, as well as processing supplier invoices to appropriate nominal codes and ensuring timely payment
- Timesheet processing and running time-related reports and entries
- Checking correct VAT requirements on invoices and expense claims
- Processing staff expenses and credit cards in line with company policies
- Working with People & Culture to finalise payroll and submit relevant payroll information
- Assisting the Head of Finance with ad-hoc reporting, end of year accounts queries
- Attend finance department and company-wide meetings

Skills
- Minimum of 5 years accounts experience
- Strong understanding of accounts procedures
- Confident with MS programs, particularly Excel
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Experience of NetSuite would be advantageous
