Bridgman is a leading quality, luxury furniture retailer with a 45-year heritage in British design. Bridgman’s vision is to move away from solely garden furniture but create a presence within and around the home year-round.
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the team. The role will sit within the Finance department and report directly to the Finance Manager. We are looking for someone who has previous experience working within the finance team that can take ownership of the duties involved and make sure things run smoothly on a daily basis for the finance team.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
- Sales ledger reconciliation (sales invoice posting and reconciliation vs payments):
- Process Shopify/ERP invoices and credit notes
- Create new spreadsheets using Excel and export information from sales orders
- Purchase ledger reconciliation (supplier bills posting, approval, and supplier statement reconciliation):
- Go through draft invoices and amend them where necessary before sending for approval
- Manage ApprovalMax daily – making sure invoices are sent to the correct person to be approved
- Reconcile supplier statement monthly
- Bank reconciliation (multi-currency accounts)
- Payment schedule and BACS payment processing
- Assisting finance manager with monthly reporting
- Ad-hoc: Dealing with emails and phone calls, and maintaining the filing system
Key Skills:
- Required experience minimum 2 years
- Minimum AAT level 3 or equivalent
- Computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Xero
- Mathematics skills for accurate record-keeping
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
