Job description

Jackson Hogg is exclusively looking to recruit an Finance Assistant for a company based in Scotswood, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Role

  • Temporary part time to permanent full time by August 2023
  • Flexible working - 20-35 hours per week (Core Hours 08:30 - 17:00)
  • Starting with 4 hours each day of the week + 2 full days at month end.

Duties separated between daily, weekly and monthly tasks:

Daily tasks

  • Process customer and vendor payments
  • Create, review and send vendor journal payments for approval
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Process all vendor invoices
  • Responsible for AP and AR email inbox
  • Follow up with any queries from customers and vendors
  • Filling

Weekly tasks

  • Payment Run 1x week
  • Customer chasing/review and update credit Control spread sheet 2-3x a week
  • Process/distribute and reconcile customer statements
  • Coding Logistics invoices 2-3x a week
  • Maintain vendors spreadsheets
  • Allocation of IC payments and advise US team of the same
  • Intercompany Reconciliation AP/AR for CCC with European entities, CLTD, CBV and BCBV

Monthly tasks

  • Month end tasks 2 days’ worth of tasks

Medium term action – Full time

The Finance assistant will take on the following tasks

  • Process general journals and FX transfers
  • Preparation of Intrastate
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Prepare AP/AR forecast on actuals
  • Responsible office supplies
  • Assist with annually and quarterly audits
  • Assist European Controller and Management Accountant with all tasks needed

Ideal Candidate:

  • 1 year's experience within a finance team
  • Perfect opportunity to learn and develop
  • Strong team player & attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft packages including Excel
