Job description
Cottenham Village College is looking to add to our bank of dedicated, enthusiastic examination invigilators, employed on a casual basis to supervise the students taking both mock and external examinations, as necessary throughout the school year.
Candidates should enjoy working with young people in a busy environment and have clear communication skills. Full training will be provided, and staff will be contacted prior to the exam period to discuss the invigilation schedule in relation to their own availability.
You will:
- Support the Examinations Officer
- Be responsible for collecting papers from the Examination Office
- Be responsible for starting, conducting and finishing examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications instructions
- Be responsible for returning completed examination papers and all other stationery to the Examinations Office immediately after the examination.
We are looking for individuals who have:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- The ability to maintain calm, disciplined and effective examination conditions
- The ability to adapt and be flexible
- The ability to invigilate for several hours at a time, if required
- The ability to patrol the examination room on a regular basis and to stand for long periods of time. This is necessary in order to monitor the conduct of the students.
This opportunity is a casual zero hours contract, where hours and dates of work will be agreed with successful candidates - please note that exam periods are the dates when invigilators will need to be available for work.
