Job Title: Finance Assistant
Responsible to: Directors and Team Leaders
Start Date: TBC – As soon as possible
Hours: Contracted 37.5 hours a week
Working arrangement: Hybrid
Salary: 19-20K

About the role
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to work closely with directors and team leaders. They will be responsible for raising invoices, inputting bills and payments, assisting with the management of the fixed assets register, adding customers to the accounting and direct debit system and resolving billing issues and discrepancies. Emphasis will be on assisting the Directors with general day-to-day financial tasks, supporting the department in running proficiently and to a high standard, whilst keeping up with all deadlines.
Responsibilities
The Finance Assistant’s main duties will include:
· Management of financial software; including collecting customer and supplier information to input, managing invoices and bills to be paid
· Bill Validation
· Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding outstanding balances
· Cashflow monitoring
· Investigating new projects from a financial aspect alongside directors
· Querying underpayments
· Reporting on financial data
· Assisting with VAT and PAYE
· Assigning bills payment on a weekly basis.
Expectations and Requirements
Essential
We would expect our Finance Assistant to have certain qualities that excel. These include:

· Having the initiative to resolve problems
· Knowledge of accounting
· Being able to learn new accounting software efficiently
· Good time management, ensuring that accounts are filed, and invoices reconciled in good time
· Ability to present self in a professional manner over the phone
· Computer skills
· Good arithmetic
· Ability to manage time effectively
· The ability to learn industry terminology and knowledge
· Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Desirable
· Finance experience is preferred but not essential.
