Finance and Resources Manager

Permanent Position

Salary – £35,663 - £41,785

Full time hours - 37 hours per week

Base – Cumbria CVS Shaddongate, Carlisle but there is a blended working culture with office and home working

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this award-winning charity as our Finance and Resources Manager – leading a team at the very heart of our organisation to improve the lives of people across the county. You will provide sound financial and operations management for Cumbria CVS, with specialist skills in accountancy, financial planning and reporting, operations, administration and asset management.

Building on our successful growth over the last three years, you will lead and develop our support team to ensure our financial sustainability long into the future, ensuring our teams are effectively and efficiently resourced and supported across our various sites and operations. This role combines work at a strategic level within our Senior Management Team, working closely with our CEO and Board of Trustees, alongside practical hands-on support to our finance, administration, HR, H&S and facilities operations.

Key Duties

All the of the detailed duties of this role are listed in the job description. Some of the key duties include:

· Ensure robust financial data is in place to plan and control the income and expenditure of the charity (including accurate and timely budgets, reports and forecasts).

· Ensure all key financial controls are in place to support accurate financial reporting.

· Lead the team to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and professional body practices.

· Ensure effective building management and maintenance, including supplier contract handling support, across all Cumbria CVS sites.

· Ensure a healthy and safe working environment for all colleagues.

· Oversight of organisational governance arrangements.

Experience and Skills

We are looking for candidates who are CIMA/ACCA qualified/part-qualified or those who are qualified by experience. You will have a good understanding of financial and accounting systems and processes and thrive in providing sound financial analysis and reporting. You will be highly numerate and computer literate, comfortable communicating to stakeholders on financial matters, and capable of using accountancy software (Sage experience would be useful). You will have a track record in operations and/or managing people and buildings and enjoy identifying and enhancing processes and systems to ensure organisational success.
