What we're looking for:
We are looking for a qualified accountant who has a proven track record in sophisticated analysis, modelling and reporting including external reporting and consolidation. You'll have experience of project planning tools such as JIRA.
You'll be a strong facilitator with outstanding interpersonal skills. Problem solving will be your second nature.
You'll be someone who is comfortable working in an Agile environment, who is willing to test learn and adapt with the intention to transform and improve processes consistently and collaborate effectively with Centres of Expertise and other stakeholders.
Who you'll be working with:
Reporting to the Head of Finance Reporting and Analysis, you'll be joining our Reporting and Analysis Hub, part of a new Shared Service team at Direct Line Group.
You will partner and support the relevant business areas or projects to provide analysis, planning and reporting to ensure efficient decisions are made and objectives are met. This may be within Finance or as part of a cross DLG team.
What you'll be doing:
- Build relationships and provide support and analysis to the business area which will require planning, governance, commercial and financial impact of change.
- Support the delivery of timely and effective data and information including financial performance analysis and insight. This is to support the business/project management teams. The activities may include month end reporting and forecasting; JIRA administration and reporting; and risk, issues and dependency governance management.
- Assist in the management of effective internal controls, governance and reporting through a good understanding of relevant processes and regular reviews of the baseline data including costs. This may also include backlog management.
- Support reporting consolidation and external reporting review by collaborating effectively with the wider shared service team and the Centres of expertise.
- Assist in delivering professional advice and expertise to the functional business/project area’s Leadership team and other stakeholders. This will include any financial and strategic issues across the cost base, project portfolio and wider commercial decision-making.
- Support the continuous improvement in all aspects of the role including reporting and financial planning, analysis, agile practices and ways of working.
- Support the review and partner processing in the production of the Business Cases, Investment Appraisal, profit share calculations and Contract Review Process. This is to ensure the financials behind the CAPs are accurate and reflect the business case and are challenged and reviewed appropriately.
- Provide clear analysis and understanding of the drivers of the underlying business/project activity including process mapping, cost base analysis and other internal and external data as required.

This is a hybrid role based out of our new London Bridge office, and you'll need to be in the office c.2x a week.
