WHAT WE NEED
We are looking for passionate Java engineers, experienced in concurrency, networking, profiling, garbage collection and class loading to join our Testing & Verification team. The team focuses on maintaining the quality of the platform by running benchmarks to maintain performance and verify the platform for scale, as well as managing the overall release process including certification. Ensuring every Hazelcast release meets the high and rigorous standards set by our customers and our community.
Day to day, you’ll be leveraging your solid engineering fundamentals with a focus on delivering high quality assurance to every cloud and enterprise build, bringing your passion for solving difficult problems to help realize the product vision.
In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with our vast open-source and enterprise community, ensuring Hazelcast is as high quality to develop solutions with as well as possible.
For the engineering community, you will provide guidance and direction for our vast open-source and enterprise user base.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work on exciting open-source projects that push the boundaries of distributed computing
- Take full responsibility and ownership of the release pipeline for Hazelcast Platform for cloud, enterprise and open source community
- Pay attention to code quality and software craftsmanship
- Have the opportunity to contribute to the wider open source community
- Have the opportunity to talk at conferences and publish blog posts about your work
- Support the QA team to deliver high quality and high performance releases
WHAT YOU HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (Computer Science, or related discipline) OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience in Java development
- Knowledge of following are desirable:
- Java JDK 17+
- CI/CD (Github Actions, Jenkins)
- Distributed Data Stores (MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Hadoop)
- Messaging Systems (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar)
- Popular Java Frameworks (Spring, Hibernate)
- Performance Benchmarking
- Designing APIs (well crafted APIs supporting backwards compatibility)
