FILM & TELEVISION TEACHER
Make award winning films and inspire the next generation. The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts is currently recruiting a Film & Television teacher for their Saturday Academy in Bath.
Brilliant, inspirational and energetic, your in-depth knowledge of filmmaking, including camera skills, scriptwriting, acting for camera, directing, and post production, will ignite passion in the hearts and minds of the young people who attend our academies. You will create short films, documentaries and music videos to be entered into film festivals and shown in academy cinema screenings. Ideal applicants will have experience both in professional filmmaking and working with children aged 6 – 18.
Essential Skills & Experience:
· Candidates are expected to have sufficient subject knowledge and teaching ability to be able to conduct our sessions to a high standard.
· Candidates are expected to have a working knowledge of camera skills and acting to camera techniques. You should be confident to create short films and be proficient in editing. You should also understand the different conventions of Film & Television.

All staff are expected to take additional courses and skills training where necessary to remain at the top of their game.
All staff are paid for the sessions they teach (3 hours per session) but the fee also includes arrival at the Academy not less than 15 minutes before the start time and leaving 15 minutes after the official end time. The fee also includes the work necessary during the week to adequately prepare for the lessons and communicate with the Principal, as well as termly planning meetings and sessions.
It sometimes becomes necessary for staff to undertake additional duties during the week – i.e. for the Film and Television teacher to complete a number of hours of editing. In this instance, a pre-arranged project fee must be agreed between teacher and Principal.
