About the Role
This is a role for someone looking to join a small delivery team to build a large-scale fibre to the home business. Reporting to the Regional Build Manager, as an experienced Fibre Engineer, you will be at the forefront of the build and the list below highlights the main things this will involve:
- Extensive knowledge in Fibre testing & Fault finding.
- Building Cabinets, Patch panels & ability to Patch these.
- Fully conversant with Splicing Plans & Schematics.
- Installing sub-duct and blown fibre cable on Core routes.
- Pulling 6 core fibre cable on Passive Optical Network routes.
- Introducing fibre to UG nodes and AFN’s (Ariel Fibre Nodes)
- Building and creating nodes (fibre cable joints).
- Developing and building your knowledge of leading and training others.
- Being a Health & Safety ambassador for the SHEQ department – being our eyes and ears on the ground.
This role is based in our Midlands region and you will be required on site each day.
About you
As an experienced Full Fibre Engineer, you will be a decisive thinker and be able to analyse information quickly and use it to make robust decisions. Analytical and solution oriented, you will be able to deal with a fast moving and changing environment. These experienced engineer posts are pivotal field roles in within each of our regions. Our experienced fibre engineers will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, demonstrated through their ownership and accountability on complex engineering jobs. The successful candidates will be skilled at using their engineering expertise and personal qualities to think ahead and predict outcomes, developing solutions that proactively mitigate business impacts.
You will be proactive in matters of safety and will be committed to keeping pace with standards and legislation, driving a safety-first culture with your team, suppliers and customers.
Finally, you will know the importance of a right first-time culture, and are a clear and proactive communicator promoting best practice across the business.
