Job description
We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team in the Edinburgh and Scottish Borders area. The geographical patch to be covered is the EH & TD postcodes area.
We are looking for vehicle technicians or mechanical engineers who have experience working as a forklift technician, plant fitter, plant technician, vehicle technician or a similar type of role. Experience within plant equipment, powered access equipment, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles or industrial cleaners may make this role perfect for you!
Working with everything from small pallet trucks, through to IC trucks, VNA trucks and automated trucks, you will be required to find, diagnose, and rectify faults, and undertake preventative maintenance on Linde forklifts and other material handling equipment at our customer sites.

Who are we looking for:
We require an individual who has skills and experience in an allied trade, such as motor mechanics, an engineer from our Armed Forces, an electrical or electronic engineer who has worked alongside mechanical/hydraulic trades.
We will consider someone with another level 2 technical qualification.
NOTE : This is NOT an apprenticeship for non-skilled individuals. For this, we run an industry leading apprentice programme that has an intake in late summer each year and will be advertised when appropriate.
The Development Programme:
On joining Linde Material Handling, you will receive a minimum of 6 months intensive training, which will include 5 weeks at the industry training provider (F-Tec), as well as a number of internal courses to supplement this formal education.
Upon successful completion of the F-Tec journey, you will receive an IMI Level 3 qualification and pass out as a Linde Service only engineer. Thereafter, depending on your skills, exposure, experience and knowledge, you will progress further through our engineering grades.
You will need to be IT literate and able to use latest technology to keep accurate records and place orders.
You must hold a full UK driving licence.
