We are currently looking for an IT Field Service Engineer to join our forward-thinking organisation, at a time experiencing a high period of growth. You will be working for one of the UK’s largest operators of independent schools, as part of the Central IT Team from our Head Office in High Wycombe.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of computer hardware and basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting methods.
Contract Type: Full time, Permanent, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

About the Position
The responsibilities of the IT Field Engineer include, but not limited to:
- Implement new systems and upgrade existing systems
- Support current infrastructure, ensure return on investment
- Resolve IT system issues and problems
- Provide helpdesk support to Schools
- Document work processes and update knowledgebase
- set up new equipment’s and upgrade existing systems, carry out on-site maintenance to prevent future problems
- Log and prioritise faults and queries
- Fix faulty equipment and testing systems and put back-up systems in place
- Regularly check equipment like printers, projectors, and IT networks
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has full Driving Licence and Car and can travel to various sites as support requires work to be undertaken at Schools in group.
- Has good interpersonal skills, both face to face and over the telephone
- Strong sense of awareness and willingness to learn
- Can work without close supervision in accordance with company guidelines
- analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Has a strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems, particularly Windows 7 and Windows 10
- Educated at Degree Level in IT related streams is preferred
