Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a part of the Fetal Medicine Team at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will be expected to work clinically and non-clinically in a Fetal Medicine setting alongside the multi-disciplinary team. This is an opportunity to learn new skills and be a part of an expanding specialist team.
The role will include both clinical and clerical responsibilities which include the below:
- Organising and informing patients of Fetal Medicine appointments.
- Data entry and updating maternity records.
- Accessing and monitoring of the generic email referral system.
- Referrals to and from external agencies.
- Database management.
- Chaperoning clinical lists, this can include chaperoning of sensitive examinations.
- Routine maternal observations.
- Venepuncture – skill can be obtained in house.
- Stock management and ordering.
- Preparing of clinical rooms for clinic lists.
- Public health education.
- To be trained to assist consultants when sterile invasive procedures are being performed.
Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens in 2024 and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH from 2024 (or beyond).
