About the role:

This is a new role working working within a team of counsellors who provide a comprehensive service that includes therapeutic support and implications counselling for fertility patients (individuals and couples), donors, and patients on their surrogacy journey.

Job specification:

To deliver professional specialist fertility counselling and provide psychosocial information surrounding fertility issues, surrogacy, and assisted conception procedures to patients, donors, and professionals. The role may involve facilitating patient support groups and the provision of early evening appointments if possible.

Person specification:

The candidate will be able to work autonomously and maintain high level effective communication to new and existing patients and clinical staff. They will also work in line with the policies and procedures of JD Healthcare and the service standards outlined by BICA and within the HFEA code of practice.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

The post holder must have experience of providing both therapeutic and implications support to fertility patients before, during and after treatment. Also, they must demonstrate a commitment to clinical governance, and a strong interest in working with donation and surrogacy. Excellent IT skills are required for this role.

Qualifications:

The post holder must be be registered with BACP or UKCP and accredited with BICA or working towards accreditation within two years of taking the post.
