Family Support Worker/ELSA
SALARY SCALE: KGA PCC Band 6 Points 9-13
£24,148pa pro rata to £27,852pa pro rata plus Outer London Fringe Allowance of £637pa pro rata. Actual gross £19,999pa to £22,988pa (inc OLF)
CONTRACTUAL ARRANGEMENTS:
40 weeks per year (TTO plus 10 days), 33.75 hours per week. Hours: 8.15– 3.30 Monday to Friday

We are looking for a passionate and talented practitioner to join our dedicated team working within the Learning Support Department as a Family Support Worker and ELSA. As a Family Support Worker, you will offer ongoing support and advice to the families in our academies. During ELSA time, you will receive specialist training to support children to develop their own emotional needs.
The successful candidates will be part of a team of Learning Support Assistants based within our primary academy - King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO) and our all-through academy-King’s Academy Binfield (KAB). You would be predominately based in the primary phase but there might be occasional times where you are needed to support in the opposing phase.
The FSW/ELSA will share the academy's vision and the belief that all young people can achieve. Other necessary qualities include confidentiality, efficiency and being able to work on your own initiative and under pressure and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO).
KAB opened in a superb building in September 2018 with 120 Year 7 students. In September 2023 KAB will consist of Nursery - Year 4 in the primary phase and Year 7 - Year 12 in the secondary phase. In September 2019, KAO, a brand new 1 FE primary school a mile away opened. After years of growth, in September 2023, KAO will finally have the full range of primary age classes from Year R - Year 6. Both academies are run cohesively sharing the same leadership, staff, values, curriculum, opportunities and expectations of excellence.
The post is for 33.75 hours per week (term time only plus 10 days). Hours of work will be 8.15am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility to work additional days during the holidays may be required.
