Job description
Sterling Recruitment Services are now recruiting for several experienced Factory Operators to join our client based at Riverside Park in Middlesbrough.
The roles are permanent opportunities.
3 Shift system. 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm, 10pm - 6am.
Please note the role involves weekend work on a rotational basis.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the health and safety of yourself, other employees and any visitors to the site.
- To operate a variety of machinery producing packed products.
- The ability to work on fast moving production lines.
- A strong communicator able to work well in a team.
- To ensure a high standard of quality is maintained throughout the production process.
- Maintain a good culture of housekeeping throughout the site.
- Act on and report all defects/hazards immediately.
- Carry out predetermined checks and audits to ensure compliance/safety.
- Ensure no vehicles are overloaded and ensure safe manoeuvring onto or around site.
- Adhere to instruction given regarding operations.
- To carry out the duties of the post in a manor such as to safeguard and enhance the profile of the company.
- Perform any duties associated with the day to day running of the plant as requested by the Site Supervisors.
- Direct traffic coming onto the site to the correct areas.
- Ensure that no product is released from site unless the appropriate documentation is available.
- Ensure that the acceptance of product into storage is controlled.
- Checking of incoming raw material to ensure compliance with purchasing contract specification.
- Assists in the development of risk assessments as required.
- To always wear appropriate PPE and ensure work colleges also adhere to site PPE rules.
Competencies and Qualifications required:
Experience in a fast-paced production and process environment
Excellent organisational skills & time management
Solid understanding of production and inventory management
Proactive and forward thinking
Flexible and adaptable approach to day-to-day tasks with the ability to multi-task under pressure
Understanding of inventory management software
Strong written and oral communication skills
