Facility Coordinator – Clinical Biotechnology Centre
Job Summary
You will be working as part of an office-based small operational team, responsible for the day-to-day coordination of facility operations in support of the business in ensuring the new state of the art facility runs smoothly and effectively.
The Clinical Biotechnology Centre has over 20 years’ experience in the manufacturing of innovative molecular therapies, that treat life-threatening conditions in early phase clinical trials. This new role will be interesting, diverse and rewarding with an opportunity to review and introduce new operational management improvements for the efficient running of the facility. In addition, you will work closely with a number of internal colleagues in supporting the business.
To start with, we will provide you with an extensive induction and training programme. This will provide you with the skills and knowledge you will need to develop operating in a Good Manufacturing Practice regulated facility. Main duties of the job
In this role you will be responsible for the day-to day coordination of key departmental services to ensure the smooth operation of the business for the delivery of a high quality and cost-effective service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring facility operations run smoothly and aligns with the organisation’s quality standards (to include facility, utilities & asset management, supply chain, inventory & stores)
- Coordinating the facility, utilities & equipment management with the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Overseeing the Inventory management systems and stores
- Coordinating and scheduling facility, utilities & equipment qualification activities, calibration, return to service & asset replacement schedules
- Coordinating the Temperature Mapping and Environmental Monitoring Schedules and oversight of the facility’s Environmental Monitoring System (e.g. Pharmagraph)
- Supporting laboratory management operational improvement measures, standardisation and innovation for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of such procedures
- Supporting the Data Integrity requirements of the department
- Working closely with internal colleagues such as NHSBT facilities, procurement, QA and internal CBC operational teams (Production, Quality Control, Development) in coordinating the supporting business operations.
About You
Experience and Knowledge
- Previous experience of pharmaceutical quality systems, or equivalent
- Experience of working in a laboratory and in coordinating essential laboratory support e.g. asset and inventory management
- In depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and other relevant or statutory guidelines
- Evidence of training and mentoring colleagues

Experience of working with Information Technology using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Qualifications and Training
- Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent in cell and molecular therapies or another relevant subject OR degree in a related subject PLUS significant relevant postgraduate experience and training
