The opportunity

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking facilities manager to join our established and growing team in the UK.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support through ownership, management, monitoring, analysis, development, product specification and process design to all areas of Hard Services (including PPM and reactive activities, CAPEX and Project works) in a managing agent FM EMEA contract.

  • Support the contract with advice on asset management strategies; life cycle costing and scheduling; PPM advice and technical specifications for PPMs; monitoring and evaluation of benchmarking; design advice for new stores and advice on the store construction playbook.

  • Assisting with the implementation of and adherence to technical standards across the client’s hard service supply chain operating in 23 EMEA countries

  • Providing subject matter expertise across the contract.

  • Assessing risk to the client retail operations and implement appropriate measures to ensure business continuity.

  • Ensuring that operational excellence is being safely delivered and that service delivery meets contractual service levels and offers value for money.

  • Ensuring that maintenance and statutory inspection regimes are fit for purpose and adhering to client agreed compliance standards.

  • Providing project management support to small and large projects.

  • Ensuring legislative compliance is being met in all countries that affect the delivery of maintenance equipment and materials.

  • Engaging with the supply chain to ensure that both PPM and reactive works care carried out most cost effective and efficient way.

  • Ensuring robust performance management regime is in place with all vendor partners.

  • Providing full support and assistance to critical unplanned issues/repairs in stores.

  • Supporting the service coordinators to have all admin updated in the client system.

  • Supporting and communicate effective with regional managers and service coordinators on escalated technical issues.

  • Developing partnership working with service subcontractor partners to ensure their outputs are managed in a positive and effective manner.

  • Assisting with the proactively management of the maintenance vendors sub-contractors to monitor and report the performance of the services.

  • Delivering CAPEX projects to the client as required.

  • Undertaking audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the delivery.

  • Performing condition surveys on key assets.

  • Advising on monitoring and evaluation procurement.

  • Producing cost/benefit analysis and feasibility studies.

  • Ensuring all services are delivered with client’s policies and procedures and in full compliance with local regulations and legislation.

About You

You have experience in a critical service environment within a corporate environment with experience in a retail or similar facilities environment. You have detailed knowledge and experience of building services systems, maintenance management, contractual procedures and financial control. You have current training in management of statutory inspections.

You are self-motivated individual and a team player. You are able to work under selft-direction and able to prioritise along with working and managing issues and projects remotely. You have a customer focused approach and have a strong commercial acumen. You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You have good organisational and time management skills.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams. You are competent in the use of IT tools, including MS Office systems (most notably Excel), CAFM systems, internet and e-mail. You have a HND or degree in appropriate mechanical or electrical qualification.

It is desired that you have a membership of a local technical institution with means to maintain up to date knowledge and practices. You are familiar with energy conservation measures. You have a good understanding of procurement processes and issues. You have experience in the FM retail marketplace. You can build related technical courses and have a H&S qualification.
