About the role:
I'm looking for a passionate & committed Learning Support Assistant for a wonderful Nursery School based in BS13, Bristol.
This is a busy, bubbly Nursery school where you'll be joining a fantastic team, they are very warm & welcoming and accepting. Here you will be working full time, Monday to Friday with Early Years.
Your role will involve working 1:1 or in a small group, supporting children with their education, behavioural and social development, helping children who find it difficult to learn because they have Special educational needs and providing general assistance to the room leader.
You will need to be committed to making a difference and have the enthusiasm to encourage the child to achieve beyond their potential. You will help the children engage in lessons & activities, listen to them read, tell stories & play numeracy games. During the role you will make sure the children understand the instructions given and ensuring they feel comfortable and confident when completing tasks.
You will need excellent written & verbal communication skills as you will be working closely with other LSAs and the class teacher. You will need to communicate well with the children to help them develop their speech, you will be encouraging the children to communicate.
As part of the role you will be speaking with the parents & guardians often, when greeting them at drop off/pick up times & keeping them up to date with their child's progress.
In the classroom you will be assisting the teacher to plan learning activities, prepare learning materials, complete records, and carry out administrative tasks. You will also be a calm person who is able to positively manage challenging behaviour including supporting the Teacher in managing class behaviour.
This school has a big playground which includes a large Forest School where the children go during PPA time & have lessons with the Forest School Teacher, you will be involved in helping with this. The children absolutely love forest school!

They need a Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about providing a high standard of care and supporting the children in their learning journey. You will need the ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding.
