Function Overview
The Facilities Department role is to secure, maintain and support our colleagues and the office environment in such a way that we are all proud to work within the space.

Key responsibilities and deliverables
- Proactive assessment and audit of demised premises (46,000 sq ft) by way of regular floorwalks and associated paperwork – providing first line of fault assessment and fix if possible
- Provide initial response to any reported faults by colleagues, assess and repair faults, call out contractors where required
- Post Room Operations (Post Room & Goods in):
- Sort & distribute all post
- Maintain stock levels for all post room consumables
- Full support of all postal services: recorded delivery, couriers and hand deliveries
- Support meeting room set up rooms liaising with reception
- Working understanding of compliance for all ISO, health and safety, fire and waste issues
- Contractors support & co-ordination – request or support organisation of contractors to attend site e.g. heating, air conditioning, hygiene, waste recycling (confidential/WEEE) in line with current processes and procedures
- Undertake minor maintenance work such as lamp changing, small scale decoration, floor tile replacement & floor box moves
- Responsibility for Stationery - proactive ordering routine items & ad hoc items, efficient stock management, on floor stationery/post/print hub management, organisation and stock control of post room
- Office Moves - Support of furniture moves, liaison and co-ordination of external move contractors, supporting internal teams affected by the moves both prior and post the move
- Manage stock control ensuring all stock is monitored and audited for compliance
- Collate data for management to assist in monthly collation of information where required
- Responsibility for tidiness, organisation and stock control of FM stores, Goods In area
- Overall support to the wider Facilities Department as required
Key Requirements
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation – providing support/information/handovers/confirmation of arrangements to direct team, wider facilities department, Manchester & global colleagues and fee earners
- Ideally candidates will have previous experience in a corporate environment, ideally of a similarly sized premises (46,000 sq ft) in a Facilities type of role
- Technical aptitude for the responsibilities of the role
- Enthusiastic, excellent organisational ability
- Ability to work alone, and as part of a team
- Intelligent use of initiative, with common sense and decision making skills
- Strong IT skills
