Job description

Job Purpose:

To support the current growth and expansion of Valentine Clays this new role will focus on delivering efficient customer order processes for the UK & International markets by maintaining a high level of customer service.

Accountabilities:

· Supporting the Sales, Warehouse and Office team

· Assisting with the customer journey by maintaining a high level of customer service, ensuring all UK & International customers are kept up to date with the order process.

Responsibilities:

Stock Control

· Liaising with the warehouse on incoming/outgoing stock and accurately updating the appropriate systems to reflect the relevant changes

Dispatch/Logistics

· Managing all outgoing dispatch of orders with our hauliers

· Dealing with all haulage/delivery enquiries either via phone or email

· Processing all haulage invoices, checking all charges have been accounted for

· Finalising all customer orders ensuring delivery timelines, instructions and communications are passed over to hauliers. Ensuring customers are kept informed at all times

· Processing and issuing of invoices

· Processing claims on customer orders

Exporting

· Providing administrative assistance on export sales transactions, including obtaining freight quotes and arranging shipments

· Entering export sales orders onto our computer system

· Issue of relevant export documentation

· Processing and issuing of invoices

Other duties

· Assisting with answering general calls and forwarding over to the relevant person

· General office tasks and understanding of the sales ordering process to support the office team, when needed. Including covering other staff when on holiday

Key Interfaces:

· Direct report to Sales Manager

· Close working relationship with the Sales & Warehouse Teams

· Supporting the Sales team

Background and experience:

The ideal candidate has experience working in a sales, logistics and customer service, with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail. It is important that they can work individually on tasks as well as part of a small team. They must be enthusiastic, warm and confident in liaising with customers. Having an interest in the ceramics industry will be an advantage but not essential. The right person within this role will be pro-active and work in a fast paced yet efficient way when delegated a task.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £20,000.00 per year
