Job description
The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well-established charity, based in a new purpose built home located within Bellahouston Park. The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting and progressive illnesses, providing care and support for their families and carers.
We are leading the way for young adults in transition, by providing a young adult transition clinic, through our living well hub service. From Spring 2022 we will be providing a short break stay service to young adults living with progressive illness and complex health care needs. As we develop our services, we are rapidly expanding clinical our team.
As one of our dedicated nursing team you will be a highly motivated and compassionate registered nurse with empathy and an in-depth understanding of issues encountered by patients with palliative care needs. A qualification or experience in the care of young adults with complex needs would be desirable, but not essential. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to quality and put patients and families at the heart of all you do.
If you have the ability to provide truly person-centred care for patients and families and you have a track record in acting with integrity, treating all with respect and of working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team then you will fit in well in our inpatient unit. With a focus on getting it right for every patient and every family, every time you will have the opportunity to develop your palliative nursing skills and experience further in a hospice that strives always to achieve excellence.
Recent experience of specialist palliative care nursing is desirable.
