Data Thistle is the UK’s leading live events data business (gigs, theatre, festivals etc.) working with national clients across transport, tourism, accommodation and media. We are a small and friendly company who are looking to strongly expand across the next two years given our strong pipeline and increased demand for our services.

The role

We are seeking a full-time Content Executive to join the team in Edinburgh.

The core role of the Content Executive is to lead the development and operations of listings and content for business to business data clients of Data Thistle. The strategy of Data Thistle is to offer the highest quality live events information which is used by a range of organisations as both inspirational content and as a predictor of future demand.

We are looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail, plenty of initiative, excellent organisational skills and a precise, orderly working manner. You will also need to show adaptability and experience of meeting strict deadlines, and be confident writing clear, informative and imaginative copy. Technical capability, experience of using web content management systems and HTML would be distinct advantages.

The Content Executive will be required to communicate daily with data suppliers and B2B clients. They will work with B2B clients to improve our data services and help build new processes and products for Data Thistle’s B2B clients. They will also be expected to contact arts and cultural organisations to identify new sources of listings data. A friendly manner and strong interpersonal skills are a must.

The content executive will also be responsible for writing affiliate ticketing articles to drive extra revenues for the business alongside the production of B2B content marketing pieces across the wide range of Data Thistle’s platforms.

The primary objectives of the post are to:

  • Ensure that Data Thistle’s listings are as comprehensive, accurate, appropriate, well-written and authoritative as possible.
  • Deliver a systematic approach to live events listings and client management, identifying any form of improvement to make Data Thistle more efficient and scalable over time.
  • Ensure the highest possible level of quality in live events listings.
  • Build relationships with Data Thistle’s data clients.
  • Collaborate with in-house technical and content teams to create affiliate and ticketing content using the full range of Data Thistle’s internal systems, marketing channels and publishing capabilities.
  • Create and publish B2B content marketing pieces to drive new clients of the data business using the full range of Data Thistle’s internal systems, marketing channels publishing capabilities.

The company is based in Edinburgh with all staff engaged in hybrid working. We are flexible to home working demands although do require some time spent in the office every week.

The closing date is 13 August, but we will start selecting candidates for interview as soon as we receive applications. Salary is dependent on experience.
