Job description
The University of Law Southampton Campus is looking for a bank of Exam Invigilators to work on an ad-hoc basis during busy examination periods.
The role of Exam Invigilator would be to:
- Set up and supervise examinations
- Ensure all University examination guidelines and procedures are followed, and all relevant administrative tasks are carried out during the examinations including recording student attendance
- Supervise the examinations rooms including Health & Safety requirements (including providing clear instructions in the event of an emergency evacuation)
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of examination papers
We are looking for applicants who are reliable and punctual, have excellent communication skills and attention to detail, basic IT skills and are flexible, being prepared to invigilate computer-based examinations, oral examinations, and examinations with special adjustments.
Experience of invigilating exams is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
Access to a personal email account will be necessary as this will be the primary method of communication to arrange invigilation rotas.
Hours of work will vary throughout the year according to examination scheduling and invigilation requirements. There are no guaranteed hours and Invigilators will have the option to turn down offers of work.
