Events Manager

The Corporate Governance & Secretariat function (CG&S) serves as principal advisor to boards of directors on corporate governance matters and leads and implements a world-class corporate governance practice throughout the Group. The CG&S HBEU provides company secretariat services to legal entities across 20 markets in the Europe region.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Events Manager.
In this role you willis plan and execute events on differing scales and levels for the Board and the Group Executive Committee. The role ensures that all activities are managed in a professional, timely and consistent manner, and that all proprietary events enhance the Group’s profile and showcase HSBC as one of the world’s leading brands.
The responsibilities include:
- Handle all logistics and running of management meetings, leadership events, regulatory meetings, engagement events and Group Chairman and Group CEO events.
- Booking all necessary internal meeting space and external meeting venues accommodation for all offsites where applicable
- Booking all catering related to meetings held both internally and externally
- Arranging necessary production and / or audio visual support for all internally and externally held meetings
- To prepare welcome booklets for offsite meetings as applicable
- Manage budget and expenses for all Board on and offsite meetings that he / she is handling
- Ensure annual planner across Holdings and HBEU, HBAP, HNAH, where applicable, are managed seamlessly with no clash of schedule
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Subject matter expertise in events and hospitality market practices especially with:
- Comprehensive knowledge of interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- Established track record in leading high profile, board level corporate
- Using technology to improve event experience and optimise operating efficiency to the Board(s) and its Group Executive Committee
- Deliver the best quality of activities to stakeholders
- Ability to lead medium to large scale events autonomously when required
- Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines as well as on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work with different teams across different time zones on different projects
- Ability to form effective relationships and liaise with the senior management within the organisation
The base location for this role is London with hybrid working available
