FLSA: Exempt

Compensation: $58,500 - $63,500 (Annually)

Location/Hours

This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our New York City office location. It is expected that some duties will be performed on-site and some remotely, with the understanding that government and public health guidelines will help determine the extent to which it is safe to carry out in-person and onsite activities.

ABOUT SEO LAW

The Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Law Programs offers scholarships, academic preparation, career development training and internship opportunities to talented, underrepresented incoming law students. SEO Law is composed of two primary programs: Catalyst and the Fellowship. SEO Law Catalyst is virtual pre-law pipeline that assists participants apply to law school, while the SEO Law Fellowship provides hands-on training from legal practitioners and academic instruction from law school professors, before embarking on a 10- week paid internship at a top corporate law firm to prior to beginning law school. POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Outreach, Marketing & Events Coordinator of the SEO Law team is responsible for providing support to the Assistant Director of Outreach, Recruitment & Marketing in the team's outreach and recruitment of new applicants as well as the planning, coordination, and execution of in-person and virtual programmatic events. Responsibilities include:


Outreach:

  • Conduct research of pre-law fairs, conferences and speaker/panelist opportunities across the country and determine attendance strategy with the Assistant Director of Outreach, Recruitment & Marketing and Director
  • Register for pre-law fairs and conferences and coordinate travel for team
  • Attend in-person and virtual fairs and conferences, serving as a representative to prospective applicants
  • Build or maintain relationships with external stakeholders (pre-law advisors, LSAC, law schools, etc.)

Marketing:

  • Work with the Assistant Director of Outreach, Recruitment & Marketing to develop printed materials and collateral (flyers, palm cards, swag, etc).
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Outreach, Recruitment & Marketing to develop strategic marketing campaigns, including e-mail marketing, text-marketing and social media (Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram)
  • Research and draft newsletters/blog posts related to law school admissions, law schools, legal recruiting and law firms

Event Planning:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute programming events, including the 2-week Law Institute in May and virtual events for Catalysts, this includes creating name tags, tent cards, program brochures, and other materials for in-person programming and working with vendors and sponsors regarding timelines, processes, and other deliverables and coordinating other day-of logistics
  • Research, source, and coordinate with vendors and sponsors to secure venues, catering, and speakers for our events
  • Developing run-of-shows for events and communication plans for participants, law firm partners, and vendors
  • Work with law firm partners to obtain volunteers or speakers for programming
  • Designing surveys to obtain event feedback and effectiveness

Administrative/Programmatic Tasks:

  • Conducting research to support fellow team members with discrete special projects as needed
  • Review applications and conduct applicant interviews and make recommendations for program
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in a similar role; relevant internship experience may be considered.
  • Must be experienced and technically proficient in MS Office and standard workplace applications like Zoom and Box. Email and social media marketing tools are a plus.
  • Experience coordinating events and managing vendor relationships.
  • Practiced written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills; must be comfortable speaking to and engaging with diverse communities through different mediums, including in-person, email, messaging platforms, video chats/conferencing, and phone calls.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high degree of comfort managing multiple competing priorities and meeting deadlines independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Strong attention to detail and proofing skills.
  • Available to work a few (less than 15) evenings throughout the year, such as attending virtual webinars or kick-off events.
  • The combined lived and learned experience to apply a race-intentional and inclusive lens to work and relationships.
  • A background in higher education administration, student recruitment, admissions, or campus ambassadorship, and direct outreach and/or marketing experience is a plus.

The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and SEO reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
